Virtualization Engineer

Job Description

Our client is looking for talented virtualization engineers with experience in Citrix, VMware, and Microsoft.

Skills

  • Must have 5 plus years of experience with design, engineering, performance optimization, deployment and support in Citrix XenApp.
  • Must have experience in implementing and configuring Citrix XenDesktop technologies, Provisioning Services (VDI and XenApp), XenServer, within a production environment
  • Must have experience and knowledgeable with VMWare ESX/ESXi, vSphere, VMView a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft AD, GPO domain level; Local GPO; profile management, folder redirection; IE security settings; AppSense a plus
  • Knowledge with following Citrix infrastructure components: Web interfaces, PNAServer, Access Gateway, Netscaler setup and administration, License Server management, Edgesight.
  • Experience with following technologies, components or areas: MSI Packaging, Microsoft App-V, Citrix Streaming
  • Server level, thin computing HW/SW client side management
  • Certifications a plus
  • Up to 50% travel (in the Southeast)

Job Posting: Citrix Regional Lead for GA

Job Description:

Senior Consultant with subject matter expertise on Citrix virtualization solutions, with a specific focus XenApp presentation virtualization.  The candidate must possess a strong knowledge of Citrix XenApp with experience in design, configuration, and deployment.  Responsibilities include pre-sales support and consulting, post-sales deployment, and familiarity with complementary Citrix products such as XenServer, XenDesktop, and NetScaler a plus.

  • Conduct proof-of-concept demonstrations for virtualization solution including Citrix and Microsoft solutions
  • Familiarity with various forms of virtualization (Session, Server, Desktop, Application, etc.)
  • Comfortable with delivering group presentations and hosting white-board discussions
  • Sound post-sales deployment and implementation methodologies
  • Solid technical and communication skills
  • Self-motivator, able to work independently and as a team lead
  • Excellence in contributing to the overall success of an engineering peer group
  • Ability to define and create statements of work for customer engagements
  • Willingness to travel as required across the South Central region for both pre- and post-sales engagements (potentially up to 50%)
  • Certifications and Continuing Education

      Required Certifications/Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years Consulting Experience
    • Citrix CCEA/CVEE
    • Citrix Presentation Server/XenApp Server (Citrix Application Streaming)
    • Citrix XenServer and/or XenDesktop
    • Citrix Access Gateway/NetScaler
    • Microsoft Remote Desktop Services
    • Additional preferred experience:

    Compensation:

    $100-120k package based on experience and references.

    Job Description

    The selected candidate will be supporting a multi-tiered high-availability Citrix infrastructure that is geographically distributed with a highly mobile work force. The candidate will be involved in managing and implementing, in varying capacities, a range of virtualization products including but not limited to Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, XenServer, Provisioning Services, EdgeSight, NetScalers, Altiris, AppV, Microsoft Terminal Services, VMWare vSphere/View and various related and unrelated subsystems necessary to support a virtual desktop and application delivery environment.

    Required Skills

    • Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for the virtual desktop/application environment
    • Must have Citrix experience on recent versions of Presentation Server/XenApp.
    • Should have at least 6 – 7 years of experience working with Citrix/Terminal Server environments
    • Makes recommendations regarding the Citrix architecture and the value that new Citrix-related products would bring to clients.
    • Ensure that platform patch management and antivirus services are kept current
    • Create and manage Visual Basic & Powershell scripts to create the infrastructure required by the virtual desktop environment.
    • Create, manage and deploy Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and associated custom GPO templates for the virtual environment
    • Provide tier 1 & 2 support staff with the tools necessary to support the virtual desktop environment.
    • Maintains a multi-tiered Citrix infrastructure that is geographically distributed, highly availability with a widely dispersed customer base.
    • Installs, tests, evaluate and integrate various applications and 3rd party products into the virtual architecture.
    • Follow and enforce organizational IT security policies and processes including change management processes. Should also be aware of industry standards, available technologies and both security & system best practices.
    • Experience with Citrix NetScaler is a plus
    • Experience with Citrix XenServer and/or VMWare ESX is a plus
    • Experience with Desktop VDI Environments such as Citrix XenDesktop 3.x or VMWare View is a plus
    • Experience with Altiris Rapid Deployment Solution is a plus
    • Must be able to understand and resolve network system issues.
    • Must have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems

    Desired Skills

    • Advanced Citrix troubleshooting techniques.
    • Good customer and communications skills.
    • Experience with Microsoft AppV (formerly Softricity SoftGrid) is a plus
    • Experience with AppSense is a plus

    Systems Engineer

    Summary: The Systems Engineer’s role is responsible for the design and implementation of network infrastructure such as servers, data storage, telephony, and IT management tools.

    Duties / Responsibilities:

    · Manage Windows server and Active Directory-based LAN/WAN environment.

    · Manage Citrix Xenapp and Citrix Provisioning Services environment.

    · Manage VMWare vSphere environment.

    · Engineer, develop, and implement various enterprise level solutions running on Windows servers.

    · Install, support and configure software applications.

    · Provide ongoing software maintenance, including updates and security patches.

    · Monitor, evaluate, and solve potential hardware and software performance issues.

    · Manage application and/or network requests and problems. Support customers and employees via email, telephone, and face-to-face interaction.

    · Evaluate new network technology. Assist with the planning and design of future network architecture.

    · Develop and maintain documentation related to the installation, administration, and maintenance of servers and network devices.

    · Planning and implementing enhancements and upgrades to the network infrastructure.

    · Perform short-term and long-term server capacity planning.

    Qualifications/skills:

    • Detail oriented
    • Customer service oriented, excellent phone manners required
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Minimum of 8-10 years enterprise networking
    • Working knowledge of Windows XP\Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003\2008
    • Working knowledge of Active Directory
    • Strong TCP/IP skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange
    • Experience with Cisco routers and switches
    • Experience with Dell and/or HP Workstations and Servers
    • Working knowledge of Cisco IP telephony
    • Experience with Citrix Xenapp is a MUST
    • Working knowledge of server virtualization using VMWARE vSphere and Citrix Xenserver is a MUST
    • Working knowledge of fibre channel and iSCSI SANs
    • A solid understanding of enterprise network security

    Education:
