Citrix and VMWare Systems Administrator – Position Description
Position Summary:
Our Fortune 1000 client, B/E Aerospace Inc., has retained us to find a number of technical specialists for their growing Corporate Information Technology organization including a Citrix/VMWare Administrator. This Systems Administrator will be located in Winston-Salem, NC. The organization has a global footprint both from a staffing and customer perspective and is positioned to take advantage of the predicted 80% increase in global air travel over the next decade.

Why The Position Exists:
This is a newly created position and is part of a major change in IT that began with a new IT management team being brought in over the past year. They are creating a world class IT organization to better serve the business. The new leaders are agents of change but not disruptors. They have come into an IT organization that is now well-funded with the biggest single budget in the company and which is seen as critical to company success. The group is very diverse, open to ideas and moves at a swift pace. They have identified the issues, begun to implement changes and have already effected a change in attitude among users towards IT but there is much work remaining. They have put together a major restructuring plan that went into effect Jan. 1, 2011. That plan includes this role.
Reports to: Manager, Enterprise Wintel Services
Compensation:
Base salary will be dependent on experience and local market salaries for the required skills.

Location and Travel:
This position is located in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Travel is minimal.
Relocation Assistance:
The company will provide relocation assistance to the selected candidate according to company policy. That does not include purchasing homes. The successful candidate will be required to relocate (not commute) to the new city. Candidates who are not committed to permanent relocation should not apply.

The Information Technology department has moved into a new office tower in downtown Winston Salem which is a small southern city known for its’ low cost of living, high quality of life, educational institutions, temperate climate and easy access to a wide variety of year-round recreational activities. Although small itself, the city is accessed by major interstates and is within an hour of larger markets with international airports, professional sports teams and big city cultural activities. Commuting traffic is non-existent and housing is very affordable.
Position Details
Essential Job Functions:
• Responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, administering and maintaining Citrix server farm and related technologies.
• Assess, design, plan, implement, manage and maintain complex virtualization (VMware ESX) enterprise environment.
• Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining servers, networks and related equipment and technologies.
• Develop, test and maintain disaster recovery procedures.
• Develop and maintain system documentation on all assigned servers and equipment.
• Stay current with emerging enterprise technologies and recommend ways to better meet the IT needs of the organization. Develop improved methodologies for providing network support. Research and install new technologies.
• Provide off hours support as required.
• Provide backup support as needed for IT personnel.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Education Required:
• 3 or more years of relevant experience with the following:
o Experience with VMware ESX 3.0 or higher.
o Experience with Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 or higher.
o Experience with SAN technologies.
• Knowledge of any of the following is desirable:
o Active Directory, disaster recovery strategies, MS SQL, Exchange 2010, data center infrastructure, IIS, enterprise backup solutions, high availability & service level strategies, remote access, PowerShell, McAfee ePO, systems administration scripting, wide area networking technologies, MS Terminal server.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Strong end user support and training skills.
